Brow and Lash Tinting

Brow and Lash Tinting

If seasonal allergies cause you to refrain from wearing any eye make-up, tinting will give the illusion that you are wearing ‘something’ and allow for a crisper polished appearance. We have black, brown, light brown, blonde and even red tint colors available that can also be blended for a customized look. For lashes, we use black or even blue-black as it adds a richness to the lashes.

Lash Tint: $40

Why tint? You may find your face will be framed in a more flattering way if you allow an eye brow specialist to tint the brows or lashes. Other brow hairs can be darkened bringing about a fuller look. A trained eye by a wax professional knows which hairs to leave and which hairs to take when styling and shaping the brows.

FAQs: Brow & Lash Tinting in Philadelphia

How many days prior to an event, i.e. my wedding, should I have my lashes or brows tinted?

One week prior to an event, you can have the tint applied to your eyebrows or eyelashes. If the color looks a bit strong, it will have a few days to settle and look more natural. If you are a regular guest and have had your brows and lashes tinted before, you may feel comfortable with the brow specialist tinting on a day that is closer to the event.

Am I able to get an eyebrow wax on the same day I am getting my eyebrows tinted?

Yes. We would tint first, then we would wax since there is now an array of darkened hairs to shape and style.

What if I already had my eyebrows waxed earlier in the week; am I able to get them tinted right away?

If you already waxed earlier in the week, we are able to reverse the order and tint the brows after they've been waxed.

Am I able to wear my contacts while getting lashes tinted?

Yes, but you may want to take them out just in case anything were to get in your eyes.

Does it matter if I am using Retin-A on my face should I decide to get my lashes or brows tinted?

No. The hair color that is applied to tint the brows or lashes does not interfere with the use of Retin-A.

Are there any side effects from receiving a lash or brow tinting, such as redness?

The only redness you may encounter is really from the eyebrow wax. If you coupled the brow tint and then had the brows waxed, that's really the only redness you'll notice.

How long does the eyebrow or eyelash tinting application last?

Eyebrow tinting or eyelash tinting lasts four weeks.

Will the tinting cover gray eyebrow hairs?

Maybe. We can try to see if the color that is applied will turn the gray hairs to a different color.

Should I refrain from getting any tinting if I am pregnant?

If you would rather wait until the baby is born to resume eyebrow or eyelash tinting, that is your call. You may want a more holistic pregnancy without any chemicals applied to your body. But we have tinted eyebrows and eyelashes on pregnant women, just as they still receive hair color services at their salon.

Am I able to combine a facial with a eyelash and eyebrow tinting in Philadelphia?

Yes. We would tint first, then begin the facial.

Am I able to combine a facial with a lash and brow tinting along with a brow wax?

When waxing the face, try to have the face waxing on a different day than your facial. Waxing is a form of exfoliation. Too many things are happening on your face all in the same day. Have your eyebrows and/or eyelashes tinted, then have your eyebrows waxed if you desire. Then schedule the facial a week later. This way, your skin has had a chance to recover from the waxing before several facial products will be applied to address your skin's condition. Allow your skin to breathe for at least a week.

What precautions are taken to prevent the tinting products from getting in my eyes?

Dampened cool cotton rounds are placed over the eyes when tinting the eyebrows. When tinting the eyelashes, the dampened cool cotton rounds are place under the lower lashes and over the upper lashes. Your eyes stay closed while the tint color sets.

If the tinting products were to get in my eyes, what is the procedure for removing it from my eyes?

We would flush your eye with a fresh cool dampened cotton round. The cool water squeezed from the cotton round will flush any sensation that is causing your eye to feel uncomfortable. If it happens, blink and request that we flush your eye again with more cool water from the dampened cotton round until your eye feels better.

Will the tinting products make my skin break out?

No. They are placed on the skin for a matter of a few minutes and then removed. The tint color does not cause break outs or pimples.

Does the tint color sting when applied to the skin?

The tint color may sting only the slightest bit, but it will settle, and the service will be completed in a timely manner. Your eyes need to stay closed. If you are feeling stinging, it is happening on the skin, but it is mild and will settle.

How often should I have the lashes, or the brows tinted?

We recommend every four weeks, since that is about how long it takes for the color to fade.
